A 3 drum Shovel Yarder built for both UPHILL and DOWNHILL operations complete with a “grapple carriage ready” Skyline.

This multi-purpose Shovel Yarder will complement any operation with its versatility in either highlead or skyline mode. The large Shovel yarder complete with a pivot boom for easy lowbed transport, has an operating range of up to 400m.

The SY UNI 400 is usually mounted on larger excavators in the 30-38t range, making for a stable machine under a tall tower, which is needed to create “lift” for Skylining.

This unit is quite comfortable in the 15 to 40 DBH range with the ability to Skyline timber when needed and highlead when the terrain requires it. The Skyline can tension to 18t, the mainline can pull 4-8t with a managed payload of 2t under a 1t grapple carriage.

With the inception of these units in 2022, they can be seen working on various plantations in South Africa, Malawi, Tanzania, Chile, Columbia and Brazil.

The SY UNI 400 is piloted via joystick with full proportional control and integrated drag, braking and overload systems.

Our system is fully designed, manufactured and fitted based on the excavator carrier selected by the customer.

The latest versions of the Shovel Yarder systems incorporate built-in operator safety systems which ensure safe and proper cable and payload management, this means safer and more productive machines.
